Activities done by different Prant Samities (2019-2020):
It is known to all that our entire Purvottar Kshetra also has been badly affected by the present Covied-19 pandemic situation for which Lockdown was given for a long time. The lockdown was started on 25th March’2020 and remained up to Sept’2020. During this long period of lockdown, practically no formal academic and non- academic activities could be done. Only online classes and limited online urgent meeting were held in all the prants. Some of the activities done by the prant samities during those period are mentioned below prant wise.
Arunachal Shiksha Vikash Samiti (Naharlagun):
The Arunachal Shiksha Vikash Samiti (Abutani Vidya Niketon’s Matri Bharati)distributed food packets to the needy village people during the lockdown period. They covered 28 villages covering 332 families surrounded by Vidya Bharati Schools. The Arunachal Shiksha Vikash Samiti conducted online classes for the middle and high school students. They organised door to door campaigns for creating awareness about the Coruna Virus and necessary care to be taken for self security. The samiti conducted a meeting of Prachar Vivag through video conferencing on 27th Dec’ 2020 in which 42 karyakartas took part. Sri Brahmaji Rao, Org. Secretary, Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra addressed the meeting and educated the karyakartas on how effectively the works of prachar activity can be done.
Janajati Shiksha Samiti, Nagaland:
In presence of the teachers and guardians the “Governor Award” was given to Gamadi Vidya Bharati School, Dhansiripar by His Excellency Governor of Nagaland Sri P.B. Acharya. During the Covid-19 pandemic period the prant Samiti distributed dry food packets to the poor families residing in the villages around the Vidya Bharati Schools. “ Naga Bharati” Annual Magazine also E-Version was released on 30th December, 2020.
Shiksha Vikas Samiti Manipur:
Teachers Day:-The Samiti observed teachers day on 5th Sept’2019 at Purna Bahadur Bal Vidya Mandir, Motbong. Sri Deepak Karki, President of the School , Sri Bhawani Adhikari, Ex- Secretary, Napali Sahitya Parishad, Manipur and Sri Seetaram Bhat, Org. Secretary, Shiksha Vikash Samiti were present as special guests. In the programme teachers were honoured and cultural programme, geet, drama etc were perfumed.
Annual Prize distribution function: The Annual Prize distribution programme was held at Bal Vidya Mandir, Ningthoukhong on 22nd Nov’2019. Sri Kartika, Lieutenant Colonal Gorkha Regimant was present in the function as chief guest and Y. Khogen Singh, President, Shiksha Vikash Samiti Manipur as guest of honour.
Meghalaya Shiksha Samiti, Shillong :
During the Covid-19 pandemic period, the teachers of Kiangnangbah School, Mukla Visited the houses of the students of the school to provide them learning materials and necessary guidance. All the Highschools conducted counselling to the students of class IX and X. Online classes were conducted for the students of higher classes. Masks and food packets were distributed to 100 needy persons of Belbari area.
Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam :
During the Covid-19 Pandemic period the samiti conducted online classes to the students, organised different competitions like vandana, spiritual geet etc.amongst the students as well as parents.The samiti conducted online meetings for the teachers on different subjects and occasions. Every school distributed food packets to the poor families of villages located around the schools during the pandemic period.
Bhumi pujan function:- The Bhumi pujan function of Ekolabya Model School of Howraghat, Karbi Anglong district was held on 29th. Oct’2020. Sri Brahmaji Rao, Vidya Bharati All India Secretary, Smt.Anima Sarma, Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra Vice-President, Sri Khonsing Rongpi,E.M of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Sri Longki Phangcho, Retd.IAS, Advisor, Purvottar Janajati Shiksha Samiti were present as honourable guests in that function. 50 teachers and local well wishers attended the function. The function was organised by the Shankardev Vidya Niketon, Howraghat. As a part of Sewa Karya, the school arranged the payment of honorarium to the Bokolia Niketon during the lockdown period.
Sewa Karya in Janajati villages of Kokrajhar district :
In Kokrajhar district, food packets were distributed to 75 needy poor families of Bejulibari and Chandrapara villages by Acharjyas of Kokrajhar Niketan and 150 families by the Niketon management committee. Moreever, the management committee of Gosaigaon Vidya Niketon also distributed food packets to 75 families residing nearby the Niketon during the lockdown period.
Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti, Tripura :
Hostel construction : The boys hostel of Hari Radha Vidya Mandir is under construction. The necessary fund for the construction has been arranged by the Purvottar janajati Shiksha Samiti. 25 students can be accommodated if the construction is completed.
The construction of Janajati Boys Hostel of Tripureswari Vidya Mandir, Gandhigram has been completed. 60 nos. of Janajati students can be accommodated in that hostel which is ready for inauguration. The construction has been done under CSR scheme of Hindustan petroleum Corpn. Ltd.
Shiksha Vikas Parishad, South Assam:
Due to the recent covid-19 pandemic and lock down situation, Shiksha Viksha Parishad, South Assam also could not do the normal activities during the 2019-20 academic years. But they tried their best to keep contact with the Karyakartas and Parents through letters and mobile phones to create awareness about the precautionary measures to be taken against the Corona Virus. The samiti conducted online classes through whats App groups and other social media.
